“A Lesson in Business and the Bolts” by CTS Staff

A Lesson in Business and the Bolts
It seems like the Tampa Bay Lightning’s troubles began right when then-captain Dave Andreychuk hoisted his first Stanley Cup above his shoulders in 2004. The lockout of the 04-05 season and impending rule changes affected no team more than the Lightning, who were forced to alter their style of play and make major personnel changes. The next two seasons offered very little hope, marked by two underachieving teams and first round playoff exits. And about those last 2 seasons, 07-08 and 08-09…let’s not even go there. I’d rather watch Tim Tebow try to throw a deep ball than have to witness those disgusting efforts again.
The 09-10 season has brought, for [...] Read More..

“Random Accurate Thoughts, USF Edition” by JJ McLellan

- USF now has the most accomplished and proven college head football coach in the state of Florida
- Coach Holtz in just a few short days has put together a great staff. The most notable hire is Mark Snyder the defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes on the 2002 national championship team
- If Jim Leavitt was wining Big East championships or at least contending in the months of November and December he would have kept his job.
- The new regime will figure out a way to utilize Mike ford and he will have a breakout season his senior year. He will have over 1,000 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns
- The Miami Hurricanes will be the toughest team we face in 2010
- There will be two reasons September [...] Read More..

“Random Accurate Thoughts” from CTS Staff

Random Accurate Thoughts
-Skip Holtz is everything Lane Kiffin isn’t: classy, a winner, and positive. That being said, I’m gonna miss Kiffin and his trash talking to the rest of the SEC.
-The Jets will go 6-10 next season.
-The UF football program is close to being in shambles. Many incidents with the law, the Urban Meyer situation, and Tebow’s (and other’s) exit have brought them back down to Earth pretty quickly.
-The Lightning find a way to bring it together and get a #8 seed in the playoffs.
-The Rays’ Opening Day 2010 lineup is looking pretty good. Speed and power pretty much all the way through:
Jason Bartlett SS
Carl Crawford LF
Evan Longoria 3B
Carlos Pena 1B
Ben Zobrist 2B
Pat Burrell DH
BJ Upton [...] Read More..

“Random Accurate Thoughts” by CTS Staff

-Hey Trent Dilfer…we all know you’re smart and you know a lot about football. Now can you please stop talking and get off the Cowboys’ nuts?
-If Colt McCoy didn’t get hurt the other night, Texas would’ve beat Alabama pretty easily.
-If you haven’t heard of the Lightning’s Steve Downie, take notice. He’s a future star in the NHL.
-USF needs a coach…really fast. Recruits have already left and more are having second thoughts as we speak.
-Is the Arizona Cardinals’ defense that bad, or is the Packers’ offense that good? I’m going for the latter. Cardinals go into New Orleans and beat the Saints next week.
-Let’s hope the subpar 2009 seasons from Navarro, Upton, Pena, and Shields were [...] Read More..
