“You be the Judge” by CTS

It’s been brought to my attention that not even the drunken tailgater’s backyard game of cornhole is safe from performance enhancing drugs.
A certain insurance salesmen, who may also be a charter captain extraordinaire, is alleged to have been using Cenestin (a synthetic form of Estrogen) during his recent run in the Crunch Time Sports Tuesday Night Philthy Phil’s cornhole league where he leads the league in average and cornholes, but definitely not dignity and character.
Is the great sport of cornhole supposed to simply turn its back on this issue? This isn’t Major League Baseball, this is cornhole. The people demand action! This writer demands justice! If the allegations are deemed true, the player, who lives in [...] Read More..

“Hi, I’m Earth! Have we Met?” by Dan Gould

Hi, I’m Earth! Have we met?
To USF Fans,
Congrats on your first EVER five-star recruit.
Number one seed in the NIT’s.
Atleast this year you didn’t have to invent a Bowl Game in your hometown to play in the post season. Maybe next year you can get back to the US.
I’ll take UF and FSU’s five-star freshmen over your two-star upper classmen any day!
John Brantley will throw for more touchdowns in two years than BJ Daniels will in four years.
Christian Ponder’s senior year will be better statistically than Daniels or Grothe’s best season ever.
No way the line is under twenty for the UF match-up in 2010.
Two dorms on campus still makes you a commuter school.
Get your own stadium before you can host [...] Read More..

“Fowler Ave Will Never be the Same”

Rejoice, USF fans. The time has finally come! We are more than just the new kids on the block/underachievers in football or the 15th best Big East team in basketball. We have arrived and are here to stay in both sports…and this is just the beginning.
It’s true; the last few football seasons have brought about some huge wins (West Virginia, Auburn, Kansas, Florida State, etc). But, these huge wins have been marred by otherwise disappointing and underachieving seasons. This past week in USF athletics, however, has brought about nothing but positive vibes and encouragement for the future…with no worries about losing to UConn in November.
The recent surprising success of Stan Heath’s basketball team, combined with [...] Read More..

Rays Farm System Strikes Gold, Again

Baseball America ranks Rays first in talent, lists top 30 prospects

The Rays are back on top of the Baseball America organizational talent rankings.
The Rays were ranked No. 1 in 2007 and 2008, then dropped to fourth last year. BA moved them back to the top of the chart, which is included in the just released Prospect Handbook, with this comment:
“The Rays couldn’t develop a pitcher for the first decade of their existence, and now they have more than they know what to do with. In Desmond Jennings, they have come up with yet another of their signatures: a toolsy, athletic outfielder in the Carl Crawford/B.J. Upton line.”
The Rangers, who were first last year, drop to second, followed by the Indians, [...] Read More..
