Bucs: Fylin’ High

The Bucs head into the 2010 season with some lofty expectations coming from their head coach. For a team coming off a 3-13 record you would think somewhere in the range of 6 or 7 wins would show improvement. Especially with as many young and unproven players that are on this roster. Head coach Raheem Morris said, “Race for 10” wins is where his mindset is. Morris must be high as a kite to put a number out there like he did. Really? 10? Come on Raheem. Why would the head coach even throw a number out there. Why settle for 6 loses then by saying you’re going for “10.” That’s not a realistic number of victories for this team [...] Read More..

Point The Finger: Mark Dominic

Point The Finger: Mark Dominic
With the NFL training camps kicking off this week it’s time to talk some Bucaneers football. There’s no better place to start then at the top with general manager Mark Dominic. He will forever be linked to his first critical decision when he took the job before the start of the 2009 season. And that decision was hiring a young and unproven head coach named Reheem Morris. Morris was the up and coming asst. coach and most likey would have recieved a promotion somwhere else if not for the Bucs. I, actually like the Morris hire. With a young and let’s be real, not very talented team, why go out and spend millions on a Bill Cowher type head [...] Read More..

Random Accurate Thoughts

-The Rays could probably play .500 baseball from here on out and still win the Wild Card
-Ben Zobrist is somehow still sitting at 0 HR’s on the season and can no longer be called ‘Zorilla’
-The Magic will make the rest of the Celtics series interesting but lose in 6 games
-Ron Hextall would be a great fit for the ‘Bolts no matter his title
-How hammered were the 2 USF basketball players who pulled the dine and dash considering they had a 40 dollar bill between them at Village Inn
-Micheal Clayton should not make the Bucs final roster. What happened to this guy? He was awesome his rookie year

“Random Accurate Thoughts” by CTS Staff

-Zorilla in the 3 hole??? I always thought that spot ws reserved for your best all around hitter…AKA Evan Longoria.
-If the greatest closer of all time Mo Rivera can come in to the game in the 8th inning I’m pretty sure Rafeal Soriano can handle a 4 out save.
-How much is former USF reciever Carlton Mitchel kicking himself for leaving after his junior year considering he wasn’t drafted till the 6th round and to add insult to injury it was to the Browns. OUCH
-What is up with George Selvie getting no love. He went in the 7th round but could be the next Simeon Rice.
-The Bolts don’t have the defensemen to play a wide open style of play… former Devils [...] Read More..

“Choose Wisely” by Justin Keller

Choose Wisely: Kevin Kennedy V. Brian Anderson

Typically, a “by committee” approach in sports means that nobody is good enough to win the job outright. Tampa Bay sports fans have witnessed the quarterback by committee (’09 Bucs), running back by committee (again, 09’ Bucs) and the closer by committee (’09 Rays). All failed and some even gave us a hearty chuckle. So when the Rays announced that Kevin Kennedy and Brian Anderson would be the color analysts for Rays’ broadcasts, naturally by committee, subconscious thoughts of ineptness were surely floating in many Bay Area brains.
Surprisingly having the two parties has worked out pretty well. However, this is a position battle and somebody has to win. Choose wisely.
Both have positive attributes [...] Read More..
