The conditions were quite cold and windy, but that didn’t stop the fun!  At the end of divisional play, two teams stood undefeated…the #1 seed Rookie’s Sports Bar and #2 seed Snowmen.  The final two playoff teams were the #3 seed Westshore Pizza Clearwater, who won their last game to get in, and the #4 seed DB = DT.  The semifinals were won by the two lower seeds, as DB = DT won a close matchup with Rookie’s and Westshore rallied to beat the Snowmen.  The final then saw DB = DT jump all over Westshore, getting out to a 10-1 lead after the first inning and never looking back.  Congrats again guys!

Robert Oakley of Rookie’s Sports Bar is the winner of this tourney’s Home Run Derby.  He hit 11 home runs to walk away with the title and a cool $80…congrats Robert!

Joe Major of the Snowmen won the strikeout title for the tournament and will walk away with a gift card to Play it Again Sports!  Joe’s 4 impressive strikeouts were more than enough to win.  Congrats Joe!

We’re starting off our brand new Monday cornhole league with a bang, as the Kickoff Party for the Winter 2012 Tarpon Pointe season is next Monday (Feb. 13) at 7 PM!  We’ll hold a FREE blind draw tournament with 1/2 off league entry for the winners!  Boards will also be out until 9:30 for pickup games.

DON’T FORGET…A prize will be awarded to the pitcher with the most strikeouts in the tourney!! Minimum of 2 to qualify. Must be either a strikeout looking, strikeout swinging, or foul ball with no courtesy.

We’ll also hold a Home Run Derby at the conclusion of divisional play! And new for this tourney…we’ll award a prize to the TOURNEY MVP (no prizes for RBI/batting average leader)!
