Congrats to No Crap on Tap (Men’s) and Wild Things (Coed) for winning the Crunch Cups! Check out the links below:
The “Bombs Away” Rec softball tournament took place Saturday, March 12th
at Woodlawn Sports Complex in St.Pete, FL. A total of 15 teams came out to
join in another great Crunch Time Sports event. There were 11 teams in the
Men’s Division and 4 teams in the Co-Ed Division battling it out for the
pride and glory of winning the “Crunch Cup.”
Team Wild Things came out to try and make it back to back championships
after dominating the inaugural Co-Ed tourney at the “Winter Smash.” Once
again led by starting pitcher Ratree, team Wild Things rolled through the
divisional round to face off against the Hoosiers who were here visiting
from Indiana. Eric of the Hoosiers led the way in the Finals going 4-4
with 2HR’s, 3 runs and 8 RBI’s. Behind his huge bat they led 7-0 after an
inning and a half and 11-4 after 4 full innings. The defending champs
would not go away without a charge though and rallied back with timely
hitting from BJ, Fay, Tiffany and LeRoy. No bat was bigger though for the
Wild Things then that of leadoff hitter Eugene. Showing off his light
tower power, Eugene hit HR’s in back to back at bats in the 5th and 6th
innings and the Wild Things won 14-13. Congrats to all of team Wild Things
for winning their second Crunch Cup in as many tourney’s! They are most
definetly the team to beat in the Co-Ed division.
The Men’s Division was the most closey contested battle in Crunch
Time Sports history. The 3 division winners were No Crap On Tap, Party Get
Stupid and Huff’s Gun and Ammo combined with High Maintance and the
Steamers all making the playoffs. The Steamers got hot at that right time
and rode the wave of momentum all the way to the finals. Team No Crap On
Tap stayed undefeated and also went on to the championship game. The
starting pitchers were Kal for No Crap and Walt for the Steamers. It was a
back and forth game with 4 lead changes. Leadoff hitter BJ lead the way
for the Steamers going 3-4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. Hammer also came
through in the clutch by going 3-4 with 3 runs and 2 RBI’s. Vince, Ben,
Trent and Ryan all had huge games for No Crap On Tap and helped to take it
down in a 17-15 victory. Congrats to all of No Crap On Tap for winning
their first ever Crunch Cup!
